Greetings!

My nickname is Boksa, and I am a DJ, digital archivist, and curator with a 30+ years legacy in music. Based in Serbia, my journey with DJing began in the mid-90s at birthday parties, followed by my first official residency at the local hub Caffe Champion and a subsequent residency at the cult club “Zona Razuma” (PUB). My journey with the “Beat Heat” brand began in the mid-2000s, built on the airwaves of Radio “Beat” (91.1 MHz). Within only a few weeks of broadcasting, it became a well-recognized brand, through which I had the pleasure of DJing in both established and underground venues.

Digital Footprint

My “digital footprint” is a multi-layered trail across platforms like Facebook, YouTube, Mixcloud, and Vimeo, documenting my 30-year evolution from a DJ and a radio show programmer to a digital curator. While the majority of these accounts haven’t been updated in recent years—a reflection of real-life priorities taking precedence over digital maintenance—they remain significant as a public archive of my professional style and career. These channels serve as the primary repositories for my high-bitrate visual sets and the chronological map of my sonic journey, preserving the “Beat Heat” identity for those who value authentic, long-term curation.

Mentorship Over Self-Promotion

Throughout my career, unlike many, I have always valued the growth of the scene over personal “fame.” Instead of “piggybacking” on big-name headliners to push my own brand, I have consistently chosen to focus on mentorship. I find much more value in helping young DJs learn the craft and find their footing than in self-serving promotion. This philosophy of community over ego was a core part of my presence even during my participation in the EXIT Music Conference (EMC) in 2010—part of the now-legendary EXIT festival at the Petrovaradin Fortress.

The Philosophy of the Archive

My work is not about chasing mainstream hits (though I follow them as well); it is about the hunt for archival integrity. Over the past decade, I have spent a significant amount of time building a local library of over 10,000 files, focusing on high-bitrate videos from the 70s, 80s, 90s, and 2000s.

I operate as a digital scout in the “Wild West” of the internet, identifying and securing the highest quality versions of rare performances shared by dedicated archivists. My skill lies in finding the gems that are often buried or difficult to download, ensuring they are preserved in their best possible form and saved from disappearing. I don’t upscale or remaster these videos myself, so I owe the greatest respect to the archivists who do.

I remain a perfectionist of the booth and the archive—dedicated to the belief that the best music and visuals are already out there, provided you have the patience and the technical eye to find them.

Support me and my work

If you value this commitment to musical preservation and the “Beat Heat” philosophy, I invite you to support my work in whatever way you can or would love to. More info on this you can find at the “support the channel” page.
